HUGE KURAI UPDATE.
First of all, and most importantly, the eighth chapter of Clarity is complete. If you like this story, PLEASE READ IT. Please? .__.
Second, and I've been sitting on this for a while--I completely redid the gallery. Thanks to Greg, now I have one of those automated systems, which is located HERE. Registered users can comment, rate, and even have their own little personal galleries. If you're a member of the Kurai forum, you're already registered for the gallery. I've updated all the galleries for Karma Slave, Claris Project, and Clarity, so have a look--and it's since it all arranged so nicely now, you'll probably find stuff you haven't seen before.
It's also kind of interesting to trace the stylistic evolution of the few people that have contributed several pieces over the years XD
Speaking of the forum, it received an upgrade recently. If you don't have enough timewasting places on the Internet yet, come on and join. It's a low-traffic, low-key board with few regulars, but the people that do come back now and again are very nice, friendly, and welcoming.
Also, I told everyone a while ago that I had an announcement to make. If you're not interested in Kurai or any of my works contained therein, this announcement will not affect you, and you can skip it--but if you are, this this is pretty important.
As you may or may not have noticed, the last Clarity chapter was posted just over a YEAR ago. The last (real) Claris chapter was posted in November. I'm the first one to say that these wait times are unacceptable.
But the fact is that I just don't have the kind of energy and free time I had in high school. Nothing makes me happier than writing these stories, and having people read them. But college has to take priority. I attend a pretty demanding school, and I work on campus, besides. My days at college are pretty much 9 to 5, and when I'm done with that, I have articles and books to study and papers to write. Besides my courseload, I also need time to relax and involve myself in the community. All of this doesn't leave me with much time to write, and even when I do have the time, sometimes the strength just isn't there. I want to work harder on this, and regain some of my old discipline.
But I just can't do it with three long stories going at once. It simply is not going to work.
Therefore, I've decided to put Clarity on semi-official hiatus until Claris Project is completed. From now on, my focus will shift to Claris Project (and Karma Slave still), and I will try to be more disciplined in writing it so that the waits are considerably shorter. The truth is that, on average, it takes me about three months to complete any one chapter of either story. But if I'm writing two at once, and switching off, then the wait between them is going to end up being about six months (as y'all have seen)--and with my increasingly heavy courseload at Rhodes (this semester is going to be a real bitch, by the way XD), those times are increased.
I think narrowing my focus will be very helpful in the long run, though it sucks that I have to let Clarity sit, because I
love that story just as much as I love my others. This was a really hard decision to make, but I do think it will be beneficial in the long run--and I really hope that, once I'm finished with Claris, y'all won't have forgotten entirely about Clarity, and you'll still be willing to give it a chance.
Also, I say 'semi-official' because I might hit a big block or start pining so for Clarity that I'll try to work on it more between now and then. But, as of this latest chapter's completion, my focus is switching to Claris.
So there you go n_n
